Coke or Coke Zero? Yay or Nay?

Coke zero is not a free ride! We often see clients that drink a lot of ‘zero’ drinks through the day but is it better than drinking regular Coke?

A study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition that looked at 66118 women over 14 years uncovered some interesting facts:

  • Diet soda raised the risk of diabetes more than regular sodas, independent of body weight.

  • Women who drank diet sodas drank twice as much diet soda compared to regular soda. Artificial sweeteners are more addictive than regular sugar! The average cans of diet soda consumed a day where 3!

Why are artificial sweeteners bad for your body?

Your body thinks it is getting sugar so you start to pump out insulin which is not needed so it gets stored as fat. It also starts to slow down your metabolism, makes you hungrier and crave more carbs! So we would have to say no to both Coke and Coke Zero.
